How to calculate a percentage score on a test

Divide points earned by points possible, then multiply by 100. For example, 42 out of 50 gives 42 ÷ 50 × 100 = 84%. If questions have different point values, use points rather than the question count.

How many questions can you miss and still pass?

For equally weighted questions, multiply the total count by the required passing percentage and round up to a whole correct answer. Subtract that from the total to find the maximum missed. At a 70% threshold, a 25-question test needs 18 correct, so you can miss 7. Use the calculator above for a different threshold.
